Spanish Lace Days
|
|||||||||||||||||||||
One of our members, Pam, now lives in Spain permanently and another, Thelma, lives there for part of the year. They manage to get to Spanish Lace Days, sometimes on their own, but often they go as part of the local group from Garrucha. These are very different affairs to English Lace Days, they are usually held in the open air, often have thousands of lacemakers attending and everyone sits and makes lace. The general public often come along 'for a look' and the 'tatting lady' is still to be found (usually an English tourist). Some of the big lace days have lots of suppliers. Picnic lunches are usually provided and often 'breakfast' as well.
