Blandford is home to five major events throughout the year.

The Georgian Fair
The Georgian Fair is held on May Day Bank Holiday. The town centre is closed to traffic for the day and the whole of the town reverberates to the sound of people enjoying a 'good day out'.
Blandford Festival
Originally lasting for 3 or 4 days, the festival now lasts nearly 2 weeks and encompasses every imaginable musical concept. From classic to jazz, folk to rock and everything in between, you can be sure to find something to suit your taste. Budding musicians and children's workshops form an integral part of this exhilarating festival.
The Great Dorset Steam Fair
The Steam Fair is widely recognized as being the leading event of its type in the U. K. Featuring rural displays, shire horses, working Steam engines and an Old Time Steam Funfair, this is an event not to be missed.
Blandford Carnival week
A week of Festivities and Fun Events at the end of the summer.
Wessex Poetry Festival
Blandford is home to the East Street Poets who organise an annual International Poetry Festival in November of each year. Visiting poets and authors make for a weekend of International renown. A must for anyone with an interest in the contemporary literary world.
